Retirement Home Ministries

We have the privilege of leading a weekly worship service for residents Legend Assisted Living at 13200 S. May.   Through those worship services, we have a 3 member team that seeks to reach out to all residents to share Christ's love.  Unfortunately, in April of 2016, we had to discontinue our fellowship and services with Sommerset Assisted Living at 1601 Southwest 119th Street, after 10 years.  We will miss our dear friends at this wonderful facility.  They have truly been like family to our church, as well as, the 6 member team that ministered to them each week.

50+ Ministry

The senior adult ministry strives to build community in our age group and support each other in what God has called each of us to do.  We strive to connect in these important areas:
  • We connect with each other. 50+ plans social times in order to get to know each other.
  • We support each other. We pray for each other, have special ministry times, and sow into each other’s lives.
  • We challenge each other to walk in the fullness of our callings.
  • We commit to making a difference in the world around us and in the world at large. We reach out, individually and as a group, to make a Godly difference here at Southpark and wherever God places us.

We currently have two primary activities that seniors are involved in: J.O.Y. Fellowship which meets on the third Thursday of each month for a pot luck dinner and table games.  The second activity is a bi-monthly travel activity to attractions around our state.

If you are 50+ and looking for connectivity and support in other areas of your life, we invite to be a part of this ministry.

Crafts & Fellowship Ministry

The ladies of our church come together the first Friday of every month from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, to do various crafts and to share the love of Christ with one another.   Our fellowship hall is coverted into row upon row of mostly ladies talking, praying, and enjoying each other, and sharing their crafting skills.

You will find some women making handmade cards for people in our community and congregation who need cheering up, encouragement, or thanks.  You will also find women using their skills in scrapbooking and various other fun crafts.

This ministry is not only a blessing to those who come, but to those who receive these beautiful crafts.  Come be a part of this fun ministry!  Give it a try, you never know when you might have a hidden talent just waiting to be set free!

Disaster Relief Ministry

We have a number of people with credentials in the BGCO Disaster Relief organization.  The church has those who are involved in Baptist Builders, as well as Disaster Relief.  If you feel you would be interested in being a part of this great ministry and helping those who have been struck with disaster in some way, please contact our church office and become a part of this great ministry.
