Dear Southpark Family and Friends,
This pandemic has gone on longer than any of us expected! We have been blessed that the effect of this pandemic has been limited in relation to our congregation. I wanted to update you on Southpark’s response and plans as we continue to move forward.
We are currently meeting for Sunday morning Worship and Wednesday evening Worship. We have a few small group activities taking place, as well as occasional Sunday evening activities and fellowships. Our committees are also becoming active once again. In all activities, we are encouraging social distancing, good hygiene practices, and the wearing of masks.
Our Ministry Team and others in the Church are in the process of discussing future plans of how and when to reintroduce additional programming, including Sunday School and other age division activities. We want to do so in the appropriate time and in a way that makes everyone involved feel safe.
We are praising God for the limited effect of this pandemic on our Church. We are so thankful for the faithfulness of our members during this time. Giving and participation has exceeded many expectations. We are coming through this situation stronger as a result. We are also praying for our members and their families during this time.
We are continuing to ask our people to keep active communication with our Ministry Team and office staff. Let us know how the Lord is working during this time, how we can pray for you, how we can help meet your needs, and whether you or someone close to you has contracted COVID-19. We are also asking you to continue to be understanding during this time of transition. Pray for your Church and your friends and family.
I want to remind you that Jesus tells us in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
Trusting in Jesus,
Jason W. Warner
Dear Southpark Family and Friends,
This past Sunday was such a joy! I was so excited to see and worship with each of you! It was a sweet time of fellowship. Since we last met, we have seen COVID-19 cases increase and all levels of government request that we limit large group interactions and much more.
I want to do everything we can to ensure the health and safety of our members. I also want to honor the reasonable requests of the government, intended to help manage this crisis. It is also my desire to make sure we maintain a good witness to our community
As a result, I am suspending our physical meetings and activities for the next week, from this Wednesday, March 18 to the following Wednesday, March 25th. I will be evaluating the need to continue to do so on a weekly basis. This includes all activities, services, and building reservations during this time. Those scheduled for the weeks to come will likely be affected. We will be offering Sunday morning Worship on the Southpark Facebook page @southparkbaptistokc. We will also have a link to past worship services on our website, www.southparkbaptist.org. We will also be developing other opportunities for our body to be in communication and spiritual unity.
I realize that this situation may bring anxiety, concern, and even worry about the future. Let me encourage you with 2 Timothy 1:7 “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”
Stay tuned for further communication. The Church Facebook page and email are the primary means of communication and the best ways to keep up to date with further communication. Please stay in touch. You are welcome to email us at email@example.com or call at 405-691-6629.
Grace to You and Glory to God,
Jason Warner, Pastor
